Announcing: “Novena to Our Lady Queen of Peace” — January 15-23

Novena begins this Thursday, January 15, 2026

The title “Queen of Peace” is given to Mary because she is the mother of Jesus, the “Prince of Peace,” who reconciled Heaven and Earth. Mary stood at the foot of the cross, where Christ merited peace for the whole world, and she continues to intercede with her Son to obtain for us the spirit of love, unity, and reconciliation. In 1917, during the turmoil of World War I, Pope Benedict XV added the invocation “Queen of Peace” to the Litany of Loreto. Our Lady is often depicted under this title holding the Child Jesus on her lap while bearing an olive branch, a symbol of peace.

Through this novena to Our Lady Queen of Peace, we ask Our Lady to intercede for peace in our hearts, in our families, in our communities, and throughout the world.
