October is the month of the Holy Rosary, a tradition the Church has kept since 1883, when Pope Leo XIII urged the faithful to pray the Rosary throughout the month. At its heart is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7, which recalls the victory at Lepanto in 1571, when Pope St. Pius V called Christians everywhere to their beads. More than 450 years later, the call hasn’t changed.
