This novena honors Our Lady under her most ancient title—Theotokos, the God-Bearer—proclaimed at the Council of Ephesus to safeguard the truth that Mary bore not just a human child, but the Second Person of the Trinity made flesh. This powerful nine-day devotion acknowledges Mary as Queen of the Universe, throne of grace, and refuge of sinners who continues to intercede for her children with maternal love and divine authority.
Traditionally prayed during the nine days before January 1st (the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God), this novena can be prayed throughout the year when seeking Mary’s protection, facing difficult decisions, interceding for conversions, or deepening one’s relationship with Jesus through His Mother.
